Dr. Ralf-Michael Wagner is Chief Operating Officer for MindSphere in Siemens. In this position, he is responsible the global operations further development the open, cloud-based IoT operating system.
Dr. Ralf-Michael Wagner began his career as application manager at Siemens in-house domain of IT. He continued his career working abroad in US and Malaysia in IT related responsibilities. On his return he founded and incorporated a VC backed internet startup whose path led back to Siemens as a Senior Consultant with Siemens Management Consulting followed by various positions on the executive team of the Industrial Division of the Siemens Corporation as well as its affiliated companies. ”Digital Services increases the effectiveness and efficiency of machinery and equipment by means of intelligent data analytics thus sharing an essential contribution towards digitalization“ says Wagner. But there is so much more to him. He is one of the initiators of the open, cloud-based IoT operating System by the name of MindShpere, which will expand Siemens range. According to Wagner this specialty lays in the formation of an open IT-Ecosystem, because OEMs and application developers can access the platform via open interface using it for their own services and analytics. To Wagner the focus is clearly on the openness of the platform and easiness to develop industrial IoT applications – he wants to offer specific additional value to industrial customers by continuous acquisition, preprocessing and analysis.
